Regeneration and Sensory Function of the Lateral Line in Sighted and Blind morphotypes of Astyanax mexicanus
Project Description:
We want to explore how distinct factors or stressors affect the development, regeneration and function of hair cells in the lateral line of the Mexican tetra, a species with both sighted and blind populations. By using fluorescent staining and microscopy, we compare neuromast formation, structure and connection throughout development.
