Project Title:
Ethanol preference in Puerto Rican honeybees
Project Description:
Our research group is studying whether Puerto Rican honeybees prefer ethanol laced nectar or a sugar-based solution and how that might affect their behavior and gene expression. Using an artificial flower patch with varying ethanol concentrations, we track their consumption preferences to later analyze any genetic changes that might explain their choice. The goal is to understand how ethanol-laced nectar influences bee health, behavior, and learning.
